Bengali style recipe. Bottle gourd peel chutney is healthy and tasty. Serve.....with hot...steam rice...
Ingredients
- 1 small size bottle gourd ( peel the skin )
- 1/2 tsp kalonji ( onion seeds )
- 1/2 tsp haldi powder
- 2 green chilies chopped
- 1 tbsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp jeera powder
- Salt as needed
- 1 tbsp mustard oil
Cooking Instructions
- First, wash the bottle gourd properly. Peel it and soak it in lukewarm water for a few minutes.
- Heat oil in a Kadai. Fry bottle gourd skin with salt and saute it for a few minutes. Once it is done. Keep aside.
- Cool it and transfer to a grinder and grind it into a paste. In the same Kadai. Heat 1 tbsp mustard oil. Add kalonji and cumin seeds fry for a few minutes.
- Add the ground paste. Then add Haldi powder, red chilly powder, and salt. Mix....well. and fry till it is dry.
- No need of adding water. Now it is done. Sprinkle chopped coriander leaves. Transfer to a bowl.
- Ready to serve....with....hot...steam rice...
- Cool it and grind it into a paste.
