Aloo Methi

Aloo Methi is a simple yet delicious sabji which can be prepared for your everyday Lunch Box or a side dish with your regular meals.

  • 250-gram Fresh Methi leaves (Washed and chopped)
  • 3 tbsp Mustard Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seed
  • 1/4 tsp Hing
  • 2 tsp Garlic (Chopped)
  • 1 Onion (Chopped)
  • 3-4 Green Chilli (Chopped)
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 Potatoes (medium size)
Cooking Instructions
  1. Heat oil in a heavy bottom pan.
  2. When the oil is hot, add cumin seeds, hing, and onion, garlic, green chilies.
  3. Cook till garlic turns slightly brown.
  4. Add potatoes, salt and cook for 4-5 minutes.
  5. Cover the pan and let the potatoes cook until they are almost cooked.
  6. Add methi leaves and mix well. Cover and cook 8 minutes on medium to slow flame.
  7. Check methi leaves cooked.
Serve hot with roti and dal or parathas.
