Nankhatai

Nankhatai is an authentic Indian sweet and savory eggless cookie that can be easily prepared at home.

Ingredients
  • Maida – 150 gms
  • Ghee–120 gms
  • Sugar - 85 gms
  • Mixed spice powder - ½ tsp
  • Rava 60 gms
  • Vanilla essence ½ tsp
  • Cardamoms – 4-5
  • Almonds – few
Cooking Instructions
  1. Powder the sugar and cardamoms. Add the mix spice powder to it.
  2. Cream the ghee well in a thali with the palm of your hand.
  3. Add the sugar gradually and cream well.
  4. Add sieved maida and Rava adds essence and make a smooth dough.
  5. Form into small rounds.
  6. Make a cross in the center with a knife.
  7. Make a small criss-cross slit at the center and press some almonds on the nankhatai.
  8. Back on a greased tray at 175 c for 15-20 mins. Cool on a rack
