Alu Vadi recipe

Alu Vadi is a snack that is popular in Maharashtra and Gujarat. Colocasia or Alu leaves are stuffed and rolled. These are steamed and then shallow or deep-fried to make a delicious snack. Do try this recipe at home and do not forget to like and comment.

Ingredients
  • Chickpea Flour (1 cup)
  • Turmeric Powder (1 tsp)
  • Onion and Garlic Masala (1 tbsp)
  • Green Chilli and Garlic Paste (2 tbsp)
  • Colocasia Leaves (9-10)
  • kokum water (3 tbsp)
  • Sesame seeds (1 tbsp)
Cooking Instructions
  1. Take 1 and 1/2 cup chickpea flour, 1 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tbsp onion, garlic masala, 2 tbsp green chili, garlic paste, and 9-10 colocasia leaves.
  2. Make a thick batter.
  3. Now the batter is ready.
  4. Let's make Alu Vadi/Patra.
  5. Take one colocasia leaves and apply this batter on it and cover the leave.
  6. Take second colocasia leaves and place them on opposite side of first leave and apply batter.
  7. Now fold all sides like this and make a tight roll.
  8. Now all the rolls are ready for steam.Steam this rolls for 20-25 min.
  9. Now let's cool this roll and then we will cut them.
  10. Cut like this.
  11. Deep fry these Patras in oil.
Your aloo Vadi/Patra is ready
