Mithi Seviyan ( Sweet Vermicelli )

Meethi Seviyan also known as Sweet Vermicelli is a must during the festival time at my place. It is a delicious Indian recipe served as a dessert. This is a popular dish at my home that can be served as a sweet after lunch or dinner, sometimes I didn't wait for any occasion will make it to fulfilled my sweet cravings. πŸ™ˆπŸ˜πŸ˜

This is a rich and easy sweet recipe which can be made in a few ingredients which are available in my kitchen most of the times

Ingredients
  • Vermicelli - 1 cup (100 grams)
  • Green cardamom - 4
  • Cardamom - 2
  • Sugar - Β½ cup (100 grams)
  • Ghee - 2 tbsp
  • Almonds - 8 to 10
  • Cashews - 8 to 10
Cooking Instructions
  1. Preheat a pan, add 2 tablespoons of clarified butter to it, and melt it.
  2. Add a cup of vermicelli to it and roast while continuously stirring it until golden brown on medium flame.
  3. Add chopped cashews, almonds to it and roast them on low flame.
  4. Switch off the flame after a while.
  5. Preheat a pan, add 2.25 cups of water in it and heat it.
  6. Add a Β½ cup of sugar to it and cook until sugar dissolves in it.
  7. Add a cup of vermicelli to the sugar syrup and cover it.
  8. Cook it on low to medium flame for 5 minutes.
  9. After 5 minutes, stir it and add seeds of cardamoms.
  10. Partially open the lid and cook for 5 minutes on medium flame.
  11. Stir and cook without covering for 2 minutes.
  12. Switch off the flame and cover the sweet vermicelli.
  13. After 5 minutes, pour it into a bowl and serve it.

Sweet vermicelli without milk is ready to be served.
