Kheer and Halwa

Suji Halwa (Semolina Halwa)

Suji ka halwa or Sheera is a quick, easy, and delicious pudding that is often made in most Indian homes and in my home as well.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup Suji (semolina)
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Ghee
  • 1 1/2 Cup Water
  • 1 oz Sliced almonds
  • 1 oz Raisins
  • 8 green cardamoms
Cooking Instructions
  1. Boil sugar and water together for 5 minutes.
  2. Heat ghee adds suji and stirs on low heat until the mixture becomes light creamy in color and ghee leaves the side of the pan.
  3. Add the syrup and stir briskly until it is absorbed in the semolina.
  4. Mix in crushed cardamom seeds, almonds, and raisins.

Serve hot.
